Lord willing, Augusta Counseling Ministry will host its annual conference entitled, “Counseling Resources for Care in our Assemblies and Evangelism in our Communities.” The venue will once again be at beautiful Fairhaven Ministries (https://fairhaven-ministries.org/) in the mountains of Tennessee on March 26-28, 2026. Attendees may stay over for an additional day if they choose.
Featured speakers are Paul Rabideau, an elder and New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor, and Tammy Hollingsworth, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Executive Director of Augusta Counseling Ministry. Both are involved in supporting local assemblies and other assembly ministries such as CMML.
Paul and Tammy will be offering guidance to interested elders, their wives, and other church and ministry leaders on how to recognize mental health problems, the need and opportunity for counseling ministry in the assembly, how counseling offers a venue for reaching the lost in our communities through trained counselors, and the importance of assembly leaders to carefully and biblically support those who seek to enter this professional field.
Please notice that we are offering an expanded, two-track program this year. Those who attended previous years will see that we have added new material. So, if your first conference was profitable, you will also enjoy attending this year’s conference.
Seminars will range from an Introduction to Counseling Ministry in the Church to practical advice and aids for dealing with a range of counseling issues including Developing a Christ-like Emotional Intelligence; Listening and Empathy: The Key to Healing; Recognizing Child Abuse, Family/Childhood Trauma; Anxiety and Gratitude; Depression and Suicide; Addiction- Helping the Addict and the Family; Compassion and Burnout; Having More Joy; Women and Counseling; Men and Anger; and evangelism opportunities afforded to believers trained in counseling –all topics that church and ministry leaders are likely to face in their ministries. There will be three question and answer sessions during the conference, plus opportunities for individual discussion.
The cost for the weekend will be $100 per person/$200 per couple. Details and registration can be found at augustacounselingministry.com. If interested, please contact Tammy Hollingsworth at [email protected] or by telephone at (706)872-1717 with any questions.
