IBF Family Conference Cancelled

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the IBF committee after much prayer and deliberations, has cancelled the conference scheduled for July 2020. Though it was not an easy decision, they felt it was necessary for the wellbeing of all who attend as well as to give early notice to the speakers and conference facility. Lord willing, they plan to hold next year’s conference from June 30-July 4, 2021.

“I know that everywhere Christ is in the church in the power of his Spirit, compassion for souls becomes very prominent. Christ weeps through his people’s eyes, and hears us through his children’s hearts. He makes them pitiful and full of compassion. They cannot bear it that men should be damned, it grieves them that the day of a gracious visitation should come, and yet so many should reject Christ. Oh, my brethren, you who live near to Christ, and feel a sympathy with him, ask the Lord to give you heart-ache over dying souls; ask him to make you feel an anguish because men will not come unto him that they might have life, but will persist in committing spiritual suicide, by putting far from them life eternal. Oh, that we might see a holy passion for souls in the church, for that would be a blessed sign of rich grace.”

Service Opportunity: Church Planting in Goldsboro

Around 1954 Christians in Goldsboro, NC began meeting for breaking of bread, fellowship, the apostle’s doctrine, and prayer. The work continued until recently with many of the saints going home to be with the Lord, leaving only Dale and Issi Harris. Pembroke Family Fellowship, which is approximately 110 miles away, would like to partner with someone willing to lead this church plant in Goldsboro and come alongside for spiritual help. The building and a home are available for someone exercised for this work. If any brother is interested please contact Dale Harris of Goldsboro at [email protected] or 919-734-8786, or Ron Locklear of Pembroke at [email protected] or 910-740-7782.

“The life of faith does not follow automatically when a person becomes a Christian. It requires deliberate action on his part. This is especially true in affluent society. The believer must put himself in a position where he is compelled to trust God… It is only as he gets rid of his reserves and other false supports that he can truly launch out into the deep.”
